Katrina's Spring/Summer Trend Report
Spring is in full swing and, with new spring and summer arrivals landing daily, we wanted to share what our fashion director, Katrina, has picked up from her buying trips in New York and Paris. From street-style observations to runway trends, here are Katrina’s top picks for spring/summer trends in 2026.
Spring/Summer Trends
Remember the recent 2016 trend on Instagram? The fashion world took that idea and ran with it for spring/summer trends, but turned the clock back farther to the ‘90s and early oughts. Think feminine, lacey details: romantic, whimsy negligees, effortless shapes, fluid silhouettes, pajama dressing, and y2k boho nods. These spring/summer trends feel fresh and light, with that hint of nostalgia that lifts the spirit - which is exactly what we need right now.
Pajamas all day every day
Comfort is key, especially when it comes to this spring/summer trend; we don`t think a trend is relevant unless you are truly comfortable wearing it. We are swooning for the whimsy bohemian styling of pajama dressing. This is taking traditional pajamas and intimate pieces out of the boudoir and incorporating them into your everyday wardrobe this spring/summer. These pieces can carry you from around your house, to running errands, and over to a beachy vacation and back. Nobody does it better than The Great, and we are obsessed with these cotton eyelet tops. Style them back to a jean or short for looks that can walk out of the house and into the wild. Wear as a full set with the matching shorts or pants for a great vacation look over a swimsuit.
Another big spring/summer trend we continue to see is pointelle and the use of organic cottons, as everyone becomes more mindful of the microplastics in synthetic fibers. Look no further than our newest brand, Cou Cou Intimates. These pieces are all made from 100% organic cotton and are perfect for going “free range” when you're going out on the town. I love seeing how these intimate basics are worn as sets, like The Long Cami in Black with the The Slip Skirt in Black. Personally, I will be wearing this set all summer long as it’s great for the heatwaves and travel - whether it's to the cottage with a flip flop like these from Canadian brand Tkees, or in the city with a heel like the STAUD Brigitte Wedges to seamlessly elevate intimate dressing as a spring/summer trend.

Stop the clock for Y2K
A really fun spring/summer trend is Y2K boho. Think Rachel Zoe styling you in flowy, bohemian, romantic styles in low-cut silhouettes. Peasant skirts, tube tops, off the shoulder pieces and bloomers lend a flirty, free-spirited aesthetic to summertime dressing. Low rise pants are definitely back, and we love the style in a bootcut like these Genova Low Rise Boot Cut jeans from Citizens of Humanity, in Clairo. The clean and classic low rise bootcut silhouette is so versatile for spring and the relaxed hem can be worn back to a flip flop, loafer or heel. Another top pick for low rise jeans is the Frame Low Rise Le Slim Palazzo in Femma for an effortless summer jean that hangs easily from the body. Chan Luu ready to wear is my go-to for easy, flowy, elevated bohemian pieces like the Shoelace Shirt. We love the tonal shell detail on the hem line, and this can be styled as a shirt or a little jacket open with a cami underneath (always a fan of versatility). Accessorize with a Chan Luu Embroidered Floral Bandana either tied at the neck or - how we'll be wearing it this summer - as a little hair tie.
We love pairing whimsical boho tops with denim as it creates a really cool contrast between a romantic top and rugged denim. Its also an accessible way to wear something delicate. Heritage Revival
Nostalgia is a comforting spring/summer trend this season, and we’ve seen tons of references to heritage and vintage-worn-in styling across runways and collections. We’re seeing heritage shapes and cuts continually reimagined and integrated into everyday dressing for S/S 2026. Designers are playing with proportions and details on styles like chore jackets, classic straight leg jeans, cotton trenches and bomber jackets, which all make for easy layering while transitioning seasons. Nothing hits that heritage feel better than Barbour and the Blackthorn Casual Jacket feels fresh and different from what we typically see from Barbour. Another outwear piece we love is the Girls of Dust Military Trench in Iron. Throw on this trench with heritage style work pants like the British Work Pants (also Girls of Dust) and this old school varsity embroidered crewneck sweater from The Great. This is an easy and accessible way to wear a heritage inspired look.

For spring/summer trends, this one comes straight from the streets of New York - it's a perfectly subtle preppy polo top from No 6.: The Milos Top in Navy Stripe. The Milos Top has that lived-in and laidback feel in all the right ways that you can wear casually tucked in or out for a laissez faire look. For jeans, a classic straight leg feels very on point for heritage styling and The Essential from Frame or the 101 Straight from OKETO, feel like the perfect fitting, vintage jean.
Seaside Aesthetic
We have officially proclaimed it the summer of surf and we're looking to the seaside to capture the essence of summer. For spring/summer trends, think bright pops of colour like blues, corals, greens and hits of yellows. It gives a vibe of 60s seaside surf town aesthetic and we automatically think of a beach on the French Riviera or Ibiza. Speaking of, nothing says Euro beach vacation quite like a STAUD dress. Wearing any dress from STAUD really evokes this trend, such as the Leona Dress, Elena or Lauren dress. Embellishments like shells, beaded details and even these cute cheeky surf style pieces from STAUD Tommy Beaded Bag are a literal take on this spring/summer trend.
Also loving these shell details on the Lucia top from Geel. If you’re into the beachy shell details for spring/summer trends, the Rise Skirt in Ivory from Chan Luu is a beautiful flouncy option that can be worn beachside or in the countryside. Don’t forget about accessories! Accessories are a great way to take a basic look and spice it up, especially for easy vacation looks. The Cape Bucket Hat from Lack of Color is on our list as well as these Chimi Eli Terra tortoise shades. Lastly the ultimate accessory this spring/summer is a scarf – wear this Rose Print sarong from Chan Luu as a sarong or over your shoulders, as a beautiful beachside companion it’s also easy to throw on as a skirt if you’re crunched for time, in the city!
Spring/Summer 2026 Micro Trends
Polka Dots!
No one does trends (or creates them) better than GANNI. For a spring/summer trend, this polka dot top is a really simple and accessible way to adopt polka dots into your wardrobe. This crewneck long sleeve top is extra special in that Ganni way, with its slightly sheer composition and perfect polka dot print. It’s worth noting this can be dressed up or down in any number of ways from a pleated skirt, mini skirt or dark denim shorts from Agolde. Another example of the polka-dot trend are these adorable Eliza Faulkner Frances Polka Dot Shorts or this chic pleated top from No.6, in cream dot.
Pinch Waists
This Chan Luu ivory Pinch Waist Cardigan is so easy to wear and while it’s elevated, it honestly feels like you're wearing a sweatshirt. Do a pinch waist in denim like Frame’s Nipped Collarless Jacket. Worn done up like a shirt is a nice alternative to a classic denim jacket and gives a multi-purpose use to the piece.
Set Dressing
Set dressing is a play on the pajama trend, taking it one step further. It's an easy way to elevate your everyday wardrobe that requires zero brain power for easy summer dressing. Put together yet comfortable, we're loving a silk set to lounge in or dress up for a night out. This dot set from No.6 is a favourite, as is this chic set with the Margot pant matched back to the Piper top from Geel for more of a minimal take on this spring/summer trend. If you've booked travel this season, a go-to are the linen sets from Citizens of Humanity - a summer must.
Shorts Vs. Jorts
There is no wrong answer here - micro shorts are as relevant as long shorts this season and it might just depend on your mood that day. Here are some top shorts picks this season.
For short shorts:
Agolde Low Rise Parker Shorts in Enamour or Geel Roxie Shorts in Black.
For long shorts, you can’t go wrong with these:
Levi’s Baggy Dad Jorts in We Did It or the Xirena Toby Twill Short in Carbon.
