Believe it or not, spring deliveries are already arriving and we can’t contain our excitement. Not only are we swooning over romantic prints and colours, but we’re filled with a sense of hope that brighter days are indeed just around the corner. Winter to spring transitional dressing is always exciting (and let's be honest, a little confusing!) so we’re turning to denim to ground us in these times of change.
Spring denim outfits are what we’re turning to for Spring 2026. Denim fabric is durable, functional, versatile and always in style. Whether you love worn jeans with a vintage feel (looking at you Levi’s 👀), a true blue denim on denim look or a simple white T-shirt with (quite frankly) any cut, shade and style of jeans… you really can’t go wrong when it comes to incorporating jeans into your spring wardrobe.

Finding Your Perfect Pair
Now, we already know jeans work well with just about anything, especially a perfect white t-shirt - more on that from our Back to Basics: How to Style the Best White T-Shirt. With so many amazing styles to try, we thought we would help narrow down the endless options by highlighting our favourite spring denim outfits and denim trends that you can wear now and for years to come.
Styling Spring Denim Outfits
The first question we wanted to address is how to style jeans in the spring? For this we turn to lighter washes with cuts that aren’t too tight, to allow for breathability when the days turn warmer. When it comes to spring denim outfits these are our favourite styles.
With so many light washes to choose from, we're focussing on the fast and furious trend that has come back (what goes around comes around!). How to style low rise jeans. It's a question we’re hearing frequently online and in-store.
Low Rider
Nothing says spring has sprung more than a relaxed look and we love the Citizens of Humanity Winslow Boyfriend jean for its effortless, laid back silhouette. The Winslow is an updated take of the original boyfriend jean, designed with a low rise and a relaxed fit through the leg. The denim is non-stretch but lightweight with a soft hand-feel, making it an absolute must for achieving a relaxed look.
For a spring denim trend, this is the perfect jean for weekend dog walks, coffee dates and farmers market jaunts. The Winslow Boyfriend jeans are the best plus one to your spring denim outfit. With the arrival of low rise jeans, what better way to welcome them back by pairing them with a perfect white t-shirt. We love to pair our jeans with the Baby Tee from FRAME. Made from supima cotton (read about supima cotton on The Archive), this t-shirt is slightly shrunken to fit close to your body. If you’re wearing slouchy or relaxed jeans, balance the look out with something a bit tighter or structured on top.
A contemporary take on the low rise trend is the Levi's Low Loose Jeans. These are a Y2K throwback style that you can wear today. We love the Dreams Nice Dreams shade for their versatility if you need to take them from day to night. The full length and subtle pooling at the hem give these jeans a laid back vibe that you can wear with loafers, sneakers or even heels.

Another lowrise option is from AGOLDE. The name says it all: The Low Rise Slim. These are a chic, tailored take on a low rise jean that sits on the waist with a relaxed, streamlined leg that hangs off the hips. Crafted from regenerative cotton, these jeans feature a comfortable stretch that is light as air with a soft hand-feel. We love these jeans in the Kindle wash which is a lighter wash. They can be easily dressed up with heels and a button down shirt. We love the Citizens of Humanity Camilia Shirt in Sandstone Stripe with this look. As a silk cotton blend, this top is an easy and sexy throw on and go top and (bonus!) it's machine washable.
Take Cover
If the day calls for chills in the air, we love levelling up our jeans and a t-shirt with a leather jacket. We often get asked what jacket goes best with denim and there’s no right or wrong answer when it comes to styling a denim outfit. The beauty of creating the ‘perfect’ denim outfit is that there are so many options and ways to mix and match depending on who you are and what you want to acheive.
Being open minded, comfortable and authentic is our definition of the perfect spring outfit. This season we’re loving a transitional jean spring outfit paired with a leather jacket. AGOLDE has truly answered the age old question of how to style jeans this spring. The Essie Recycled Leather Cropped Jacket is available in Black and Chocolate and we love the streamlined, cropped silhouette that this jacket provides to an otherwise laid back outfit. The Dixon Cocoon Bomber in Detox is another leather offering from AGOLDE that features more volume through the body and arms and a defined collar. Also crafted from recycled leather, both leather jackets are buttery soft and can move with you, whatever your plans dictate.
Denim on Repeat
If leather isn’t for you, we’ve got other ideas up your sleeve for women’s denim outfits. This spring (or any season really) we can’t get enough of denim on denim for spring. This pairing can take cues from film or music for inspo. There are no limits to denim on denim. Levi’s is our go to brand for crafting an all denim ensemble. This season our favourite denim pieces are the Baggy Dad Jean, the 501 ‘90s, Shrunken ‘90s Vest and the 90’s Trucker Jacket. Clearly Levi’s is leaning heavily into the ‘90s vibes and you should too! Our favourite way to style denim on denim is to break up the top and bottom with a white t-shirt. If you need help with finding the best white t-shirt we’re here for you - don’t forget to check out our style guide here.
Layering up a Spring Denim Outfit
We love light washes for spring, but in the cooler months, we find layers and sweaters are ideal for balancing out the seasonality. In early and cool spring months, pairing light denim with sweatshirts for a ‘90s varsity look is A+ in our books. We turn to The Rugby Sweatshirt from The Great to achieve this laid back yet thoughtful approach to wearing light denim. Top the look off with Le Bon Shoppe Her Varsity Socks and Handball Spezial Shoes in Collegiate Navy from Adidas.
Light Wash vs. Dark Wash - That Is the Question
Spring denim ideas are plentiful because jeans can truly go with anything and go anywhere. Taking you from the grocery store to a girls night out. There’s often a debate between light washes vs dark washes in the spring. When the girls call we turn to a darker wash that feels elevated and chic but comfortable enough to give you the stamina to get through the night. For this mission, we turn to FRAME. Frame takes inspiration from the ‘70s and puts their own contemporary, LA spin on it. The Hang is always down to hang. The Hang has a mid-rise waist with a bit of room through the hip and thigh to allow for comfort, but not too much that your own frame gets lost. Currently available in Rinse - a rich dark indigo to level up your going out look.
Take your spring denim out for the night with the Laura Top from Geel. This is an off the shoulder beauty that’s a no muss, no fuss piece. Available in a Oat and Gloom. This top should be a staple for an elevated look and pairs perfectly with The Hang. Complete your spring outfit with our favourite new arrival from Marge Sherwood - the Ribbon Pochette. The Ribbon Porchette is a minimalist dream with a simple shoulder strap and feminine bow detail on the front.
Denim Care FAQ's
How often should I wash my jeans?
Denim is a sturdy and rugged material but it is surprisingly sensitive to laundering. Most experts recommend only washing jeans every 5-10 wears and spot treating as needed. If you find your jeans need a refresh, try hanging them in a breezy spot or using a gentle fabric spray on them. Around Hill's Dry Goods, we're fans of DedCool's Room + Linen Spray for a quick refresh.
Should I use a washing machine or hand wash?
If you want to score extra points, hand washing your jeans in a tub of cold water will help preserve fit and colour. But we know that's a lot to ask!
If you need to wash your jeans and don't have time for that follow the steps below:
- Turn your jeans inside out to prevent streaks and to protect the fibers.
- Use cold water to prevent shrinking. We can't stress the importance of cold water enough! Hot water breaks down fibers and can cause premature discolouration.
-Select a gentle wash cycle on cold and use a mild detergent such as DedCool's Dedtergent. Gentle enough to use on intimates and 100% biodegradable and environmentally conscious.
Can I put my jeans in the dryer?
We're going to break it to you gently...avoid the dryer at all costs. High heat is your jeans sworn enemy enemy and is sure to break down the fiber, cause shrinking and damage the elasticity of any stretch your jeans may have.
A better way is to lay your jeans flat or allow them to hang dry.
If after air drying they feel a little stiff, wearing them for a couple mins will loosen them up or you can simply put them on a 'no heat' or 'air fluff' cycle for 10 minutes.
How can I prevent my indigo jeans from bleeding onto other fabrics??
This is called "crocking" and we hear you. It's really aggravating.
To prevent crocking, soak you new jeans in a bath with cold water and a cup of vinegar for 30 minutes. This will help set the dye as the acidity from the vinegar locks the pigment into the fabric.
* For their first wash, wash your new jeans on their own to ensure no indigo dye transfers onto other clothing.
