Falling for These Fall/Winter 2026 Trends

Fall/Winter 2026 Trends in Womenswear

It’s no surprise that at Hill’s Dry Goods we have a deep appreciation for our heritage. Our roots are a reference point that helps us move forward feeling grounded and confident in who we are. We admire others who do the same and love sharing brands with a similar mindset with our community. Lucky for us, heritage revival as a Fall/Winter 2026 trend is alive and well this season along with prints and pops of colour.

Texture, Colour & Prints Galore for Fall/Winter 2026 Trends

Heritage revival is represented through a countryside trend and consists of several textures, patterns and colourways that we’ve seen on the runway this season. Denim is the reliable workhorse. It’s always there for us either as jeans, shirting or outerwear. Another material we welcome as a fall/winter 2026 trend is corduroy. Corduroy is a fabric we look forward to every fall because of its nostalgic, back to school aesthetic and comfortable feel. We love seeing hints of corduroy on cuffs and collars or worn as pants in deep shades of navy and brown. It’s a softer handfeel that is instantly cozy but put-together. Knits in all their variations are always exciting to unpack but this season especially we love seeing argyle represented across various heritage brands.

Argyle has been around for ages and it is definitely back and reimagined for a contemporary mindset. Another fall/winter 2026 trend that’s never far from reach is a classic tartan. Whether tartan is represented in a supporting role or the focal point of an outfit, there’s nothing more comforting than a tartan pattern for fall and winter. The last fall/winter 2026 trend we love having back this season is animal print in new imagined ways. We’re always on the lookout for an excuse to wear pattern!

When it comes to styling, the key is to not overthink it. You can do hints of texture or pattern or mix and match to create a unique look.

Countryside Meets City Look

The first look we love for Fall/Winter 2026 is all about layering. An effortless weekend uniform for coffee runs, errands and plans with friends. Easy to move in, easy to wear and easy to pull together. Layering is key this season when temperatures are constantly in flux.

For this outfit, we’re seeking out a cotton basic. The Great Long Sleeve Slim Tee is a great choice given its cotton composition and the breathable nature of cotton. The Palma Straight from Citizens of Humanity is a clean and sophisticated denim option and effortlessly pairs with the Essential Checked Shirt from Dunst. Cover up with the Allerston Wax Jacket from Barbour, &Daughter Foulard. With this look, we’re encompassing Argyle with the foulard and seeing that nice pop of red with the white tee as a neutral backdrop. The Dunst checked shirt is a layering component that you can wear open, buttoned up, or tied around your neck until you need to toss it on and in a colourway that’s easily wearable as a main character or supporting role.

Barbour is a requisite when achieving that heritage look. Everything about the Allerston Wax Jacket is on point when it comes to balancing texture, look and function. The waxed coating is water proof but provides a subtle sheen that ages beautifully. That sheen is paired with brass hardware, a corduroy collar and tartan lining representing decades of Highlands lifestyle and heritage, perfectly balanced and accented with texture and functionality. We love how this look comes to life and captures all we love about fall/winter 2026 trends.

With all these subtle hints of texture and colour, we think pulling in a reliable pair of blue jeans provides an essential anchor to the look. For this we’re turning to Citizens of Humanity Palma Straight in Kitten, a softly faded, medium indigo. The Palma Jean is crafted from heavyweight silk denim. It has a soft, breathable feel with a smooth hand and subtle stretch making this jean perfect for maintaining comfort and shape throughout the day. For footwear, the Samba OG’s are a natural choice to provide the desired comfort for you to get through that to-do list and then some without paying the price at the end of the day!

Prints and Patterns

Our next look is predicated on having an event that requires more than a tee but not quite a night out either. Animal print is a fall/winter 2026 trend that’s always in style (no matter the time of year), but this season we’re seeing a reinterpretation of leopard and it’s perfectly subtle while still making an impact. The Hosiery Top from FRAME in Dark Leopard is an example of leopard but with a mix of dark browns and dark rusts combining to create a moodier leopard print compared to the classic leopard colourway we often see on and off the runway. We have definitely fallen prey to its appeal. Despite the print, this top is a wardrobe work horse and could work with any number of looks from denim, trousers, or a satin skirt. But we see this making an impact with an equally elevated bottom and for this we have two options. Option number one is pairing this top with the Chan Luu Techno Taffeta Barrel Pant in Chocolate for a moody and elevated vibe. As a turtleneck this can be worn anywhere and layered easily with a cardigan or blazer depending on the outing. Worn with the Techno Taffeta Pants and heels takes it to the next level.

If a textured, sensorial look is what you're after, the Reboot Corduroy Pant in Espresso from Frame is a look that evokes a British 70's rockstar energy. Topped off with a blazer or brown bomber like the Connor Jacket from No. 6 would be, in our opinion, a fun way to play into fall/winter 2026 trends with patterns and texture. The Reboot Corduroy Pant in a dark brown plays off the leopard print beautifully. Pair the look with heeled boots and you’re ready for your night out.

A Delight in Textures

The third look we’re loving captures our obsession with textures and traditional patterns. Layering is a sumptuous method of bringing cozy into your life and celebrating textures. With that we find layering a lightweight turtleneck with a knit a lovely way to mix and match textures and prints.

The No. 6 Lennon Turtle Neck in Plum Plaid is a sophisticated way to display plaid this season and layering it under the Oversized Shawl Cardigan in Dark Fawn from Bare Knitwear is fall styling at its finest. This look combines the best of fall/winter 2026 plaid and knitwear trends and a look you can incorporate into your everyday life. We love the dramatic neckline that hugs the wearer and protects their neck from the cold. The slouchy structure of the cardigan can be casually styled as well, but for this outfit we’re pairing it with a sleek texture on the bottom. The No. 6 Wren Skirt or Mel Skirt are both dreamy pairings with the turtleneck and cardigan. Both skirts feature an A-line, mid length silhouette and both colourways suit a fall palette. The Mel Skirt comes in a deep and moody Bordeaux and is cut in vegan leather with subtle volume and shirred elastic waistband. We love the dramatic colourway and how it complements the plum in the Lennon turtleneck. The Wren Skirt is also in an A-line cut and paneled construction. The colourway is a lovely cocoa brown which is a fall palette must.
